Did human trafficking gangsters kill Allie Rice?
After reading last week’s Bayou Justice column on Louisiana State University student Allison Rice’s murder, a retired Baton Rouge police officer contacted me with a theory. The attackers, he believes, planned to abduct Allison and only killed her when she attempted to escape.
Allie Rice’s murderers remain at large
Allison Rice, a 21-year-old senior and marketing major at LSU, worked part-time at The Shed BBQ near the campus. Around 2:19 that morning, driving home to her apartment, Allie stopped her silver SUV at a train crossing in the 1500 block of Government Street. Soon after, to avoid the train or escape an attacker, she seemingly attempted to make a U-turn before someone shot her multiple times in the chest.

FBI agent hired to expose corrupt cops
Last week, a former Livingston Parish sheriff’s deputy accused of horrific sex crimes pleaded guilty, avoiding a trial requiring his young victims to testify. His resulting 100-year sentence will land him in a prison where fellow inmates do not immediately kill police officers, rapists, and pedophiles.
