One of two missing men found near Greensburg
Last week, the daughter of a missing St. Helena Parish man called me, asking Bayou Justice to shine some light on the disappearance of her father, who vanished one year ago from the Hall and Lindsey Road area, a short thoroughfare northwest of Greensburg, between Louisiana Highways 10 and 43.
Slidell man lost in storm after alligator attack
According to Captain Lance Vitter, Commander of the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office Public Affairs Division, a Slidell woman told investigators, looking at the floodwaters from nearby Lake Pontchartrain, she saw her husband “in a death roll” with a 7-foot alligator. As she approached, the reptile abandoned its prey, allowing the 63-year-old woman to drag her bleeding husband onto the steps. She went inside for her first aid kit and returned before realizing one of his arms was missing.
Unsolved murders need not remain that way
Two contrasting events occurred last week. A mother made a public plea to the residents of South Louisiana for help exposing the person or person who killed her son in March 2021—while in Central Louisiana, a former Livingston Parish sheriff’s deputy rallied the public to help police resolve the murder of a teenage girl from 2004.
Body found in river is missing LSU freshman
A week before she vanished, Kori Gauthier, a 19-year-old freshman at Louisiana State University, shot video of herself and a male friend giggling and slapping each other with dorm room pillows. A female voice narrates the video on social media, opening with the phrase, “This is for couples only,” and closes with a question, “In this relationship, who will be the last to die?”
