Senator’s assassination still a mystery
After Huey Long died in a Baton Rouge hospital, the Times-Picayune reported that all of Frank Costello's slot machines had returned to Baton Rouge and New Orleans as mysteriously as they had vanished two weeks earlier. Decades later, before a government committee, Costello claimed Huey Long invited him to ship his slot machines to Louisiana from New York, an offer he could not refuse.
Police said victim died in chocolate syrup
When her landlord found Kimberly Gail Womack’s nude and lifeless body in the bedroom of her mobile home, sheriff’s deputies told Kathryn Simpson that her mother had slipped in a puddle of chocolate syrup and hit her head. Following her mother’s cremation, investigators admitted to Kathryn that someone had murdered her mom.
Still no justice for Nessa Hartley
Four years ago, one day before her 57th birthday, a masked man shot and killed Janessa Hartley as she dropped a friend two blocks from her own home at a Brookshire Avenue residence in their Sherwood Forest neighborhood. The Baton Rouge Police Department is still looking for her killer today.
Dennis Creel’s murderer still unidentified
A farmer walking his fence line off 4-H Club Road in Denham Springs discovered Dennis Creel’s body on Halloween Day. Someone had tied Creel’s hands behind his back before or after beating him to death.
